Altering Thrown Forms

Presented by Daniel Vito
Altering has a huge Effect on the interest Level of Your work

We will cover lip treatment, faceting, fluting, distortion, and surface markings.

We will cover lip treatment, faceting, fluting, distortion, and surface markings. Altered pots make a statement about the remembrance of the once-soft nature of clay. Looser more organic forms are discovered: artistic freedom is liberated.

Although beginners pots are typically asymmetrical, what they usually strive for is to get enough control of the clay to make round pots. But once you can do “round” it is time to explore altering.

There will be hands-on time during the workshop.
