Clay Pittsburgh Studio Tour at Fireborn

Information for Participants

I know you all have questions. I want to answer a few. Please ask about anything I forget to mention here. If you have never been to Fireborn, consider stopping by before the tour.

Indoor Space: If you wish to be indoors, I have twelve Ikea shelving units in the gallery area. Most of them are 30″ w, 10.5″ deep and 80″ tall. You may each have one of them plus other space if needed. Plus, I have lots more tables and shelves available throughout the building. You may also bring your own shelving or tables to put in the studio. If you decide to use shelving in the gallery, please allow enough time to remove my work and make space for yours.

Outdoor Space: Fireborn is on a street corner and the sidewalk is 10 feet wide. Weather permitting, setting up on the sidewalk is a great idea. You will be hightly visible. Bring your own display, but don’t bring a 10 foot by 10 foot show tent canopy. You may bring and display any literature you have about you, your work, QR codes, your websites, social media, etc.

Advertising: Most of our advertising will be done using social media. We have a promotional toolkit for the tour, including “ready to go” images to post on your social media, print flyers with, send in emails etc. You should spread the word, and ask your followers, friends and family to do the same. The more people who hear about the tour, the better the turnout will be for everyone!

Sales: Each artist will be in charge of their own sales, so be sure to bring whatever you may need in that regard. I recommend having a mobile credit card reader, as well as cash to make change and a Venmo, Square, or PayPal account set up.

Hours: The tour runs from 11AM – 5PM, Saturday and Sunday November 9th and 10th. It’s important that you are able to be here both days, for the entire duration of the tour. We have a bathroom on-site, but won’t be providing any food for the day, so plan accordingly.

Load-in and Load-out: You are welcome to load in and set up your work any time between 10am and 6pm on Friday 11/8, or on the morning of Saturday 11/9. At each entrance there is one step up from the sidewalk, so rolling carts or dollies into the building can be difficult.
