Open Studio – Note new Start time: 12:30 p.M. effective May 1, 2023 12:30 – 4:00 P.M.  Saturday open-studio access, without instruction, is sometimes available, depending on whether or not the studio is booked for other activities. However, there is never open studio on week eight. We usually don’t offer more than two, and the most likely weeks when they will happen are 3 or 4, and 6 or7.

Open studio is a great way to hone your skills with extra practice.

You may use Open Studio time to throw, trim, or glaze (if you are a certified independent glazer, otherwise no glazing). For throwing, Fireborn clay must be used and may be purchased as needed.

You will need to maintain balance in our studio flow. Leaving your bisque ware collect at the studio for weeks and then glazing everything on a Saturday doesn’t work for us. That would jam up our shelves. However, storing your bisque ware AT HOME and glazing a bunch on Saturday does work. As always, sign work with your last name, date and regular class symbol (not the Saturday symbol). If we can’t decipher you writing, your work will get lost, and we we won’t fire it.

Open studio terms:

If you are currently enrolled in an 8-week class, you may attend an open-studio on a per diem basis ($25). Open-studio Saturdays are not the same as a make-up class and thus are not free.
